Lead-Safe Inspections serving Northwest Ohio
Licensed and Insured

On April 22, 2025, the Toledo, Ohio City Council voted in the Lead-Safe Ordinance.
A Lead-Safe Certificate is required for in-home daycares and 1-4-unit residential rental properties originally constructed prior to January 1, 1978.
The biggest changes to the new Lead-Safe Ordinance are about the City of Toledo Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCP).
- DHCP will issue the Lead-Safe Certificates
- DHCP will assume regulatory responsibility over the local lead inspectors. DHCP will audit the inspectors to make sure they are performing inspections properly.
- The first deadline due date is December 31, 2025.
Visit our Inspections Page and get more information about the Lead-Safe Ordinance, maps, and each phase's due dates. This will be updated shortly as soon as the information is posted online.
