Toledo, Ohio passed the Residential Rental Properties and Lead Safety Compliance Lead-Safe Ordinance requiring 1-4 rental units and family child-care homes to be inspected for lead paint issues. 

On October 23, 2024 the plaintiff, Charmarlyn Strong gave a Notice of Appeal to the Ohio Supreme Court concerning the Lead-Safe Ordinance. We now wait to see if the Ohio Supreme Court takes the case or not and as of January 4, 2025 only court briefs have been turned in. The City of Toledo is not enforcing the Lead-Safe Ordinance with ongoing litigation.
