The Lead-Safe Inspection is to be conducted by a Lead Risk Assessor, Lead Inspector, or Clearance Technician insured and licensed by the State of Ohio and registered with the Toledo Lucas County Health Department. The Inspector/Clearance Technician will be qualified/certified in all aspects of the lead safe inspection process, including visual assessment (both exterior and interior) and dust wipe sampling.
The Lead Paint Detectives program is a quality approach to ensuring a lead-safe environment. The Lead Risk Assessors, Local Lead Inspectors, and Clearance Technicians have all completed the specialized training and passed the testing required by the state and local authorities, and are certified and registered accordingly. With extensive engineering and building construction backgrounds they are well-qualified to provide the property owner with expert pre-inspection support, an accurate visual assessment of the property, and the critical dust wipe inspection of the property interior. All required laboratory analysis of the dust wipe samples is handled in coordination with a national laboratory certified under the stringent guidelines of the National Lead Laboratory Accreditation Program (NLLAP).
At the successful completion of the inspection and the laboratory testing of the samples, a full report packet, carefully documented, will be provided to the property owner detailing all aspects of the inspection. The report packet will consist of all completed forms required by the City of Toledo/Toledo Lucas County Health Department for final certification/registration.
In the event that there are any problems passing the inspection, you can be assured that the Lead Paint Detectives inspectors/technicians will continue to work closely with the property owner to correct any discrepancies and to successfully complete any and all re-inspection requirements. The Lead Paint Detectives objective is the successful lead-safe certification and registration of the property.
